SPECIAL EVENT COMING UP SOON AT HOPE ABBEY, THE MAUSOLEUM AT THE MASONIC CEMETERY
The Eugene Sacred Harp Singers are scheduled to sing at Hope Abbey at 7 pm on MAY 30 (2024), the Thursday after Memorial Day, and will sing till around 9 pm.
Hope Abbey is a small and beautiful little building, recently renovated and with GREAT acoustics. Come and listen, or use one of our loaners and sing along. Regular singers, bring whatever loaners you have. And do bring more layers than you might think you would need, as it is quite cool in the space.
Park near 26th and Potter and walk up 26th till you get to the beautiful little building above where the road ends.
SUMMER PLANS
During COVID, we were quite irregular about our singings. Now we have started singing at the McNail-Riley House at 601 West 13th Avenue, near the Fairground on the second and fourth Thursdays at 7 pm.
After Memorial Day we will go back to our favorite summer location, by the river at the end of N. Adams and will continue there till the days become too short to do that, probably soon after Labor Day.
We will post changes on the website when the situation changes, and to the Discussion list, which you can sign up for by contacting Karen Stingle at [email protected]
REGULAR SINGINGS:
SUMMER: (Memorial Day to Labor Day) - Singings happen by the river on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, 7 pm until dark outside. We’ll meet in Maury Jacobs Park, at the end of N. Adams St. (If it is raining, call Jean Murphy at 541-513-0176 to find out where we are meeting.)
WINTER: (Labor Day to Memorial Day) - Usually second and fourth Thursdays of the month, 7:30-9 pm. In 2023, we plan to start singing at the McNail-Riley House at 601 West 13th Avenue, near the Fairgrounds.
Eugene Sacred Harp Singers are not affiliated with any religious or political group. All are welcome, with no required ongoing attendance, and no auditions! Loaner books are available to use at singings.
